A Peek Inside My Michigan City, IN Studio…

Step into a space designed with intention, comfort, and artistry in mind. Located conveniently just off of 80/94 in Michigan City, Indiana, my in-home photography studio was created to provide a luxury experience for families across Northwest Indiana, Michiana, and Chicago. Every corner of the studio has been thoughtfully designed to maximize my space and support a calm, cozy atmosphere—whether you’re here for an editorial-style maternity session or documenting your baby's first year!

A Studio That Feels Like Home, But Better

The moment you arrive, you’ll notice this isn’t your typical commercial space. Tucked inside the quiet lower level of my Northwest Indiana home, I’ve custom built my private photography studio into a peaceful, luxury experience for families throughout The Region.

Bright white walls, cozy seating, soft textures, and thoughtfully arranged lighting, the studio feels airy, welcoming, and made just for you. Upon arrival, enjoy private parking in my home’s driveway. My home is your home for the time you are here. My studio entrance is separate from my home, so I will meet you out front to help you carry your belongings and show you the way down to the studio—just let me know when you’ve arrived!

Custom Setups for Every Session

Every session is customized from the ground up… literally. From backdrops and accessories to the textures I use under your newborn baby, everything is hand-selected and prepared ahead of your arrival just for you. This will help us maximize our studio time for the best variety and results! Here’s how I transform the studio to match your vision.

Maternity Sessions

I offer maternity sessions in-studio (the most popular choice), or outside! Both sessions offer a unique experience tailored to you. My studio maternity sessions take place in my Michigan City, IN studio, and outdoor sessions can take place anywhere locally within NWI, Michiana, or Chicago region.

For studio maternity photoshoots, my studio becomes your personal stage. I bring out the elegant gowns, draping fabrics, luxurious robes, and carefully placed lighting to sculpt your silhouette in a way that’s bold, empowering, and timeless. Expect a seamless blend of editorial posing and softness to compliment my unique, high-fashion editorial maternity style.

My outdoor maternity sessions can take place at a multitude of the stunning locations that Northwest Indiana has to offer. Outdoor sessions only take place in the evening around sunset to take advantage of that soft, golden hour light. I focus on gentle movement, and the beauty of nature to create timeless portraits that celebrate your growing family. These sessions are about more than just your bump. They capture the quiet connection between you, your partner, and your little one(s). Styled in soft, natural tones, each image feels organic, warm, and full of life.

Newborn Sessions

Newborn safety and comfort are at the heart of every setup. I pre-heat the studio to a warm 80 degrees and play white noise to create an environment that mimics the womb for your baby. Though it feels hot for us, we have to remember that these tiny humans do not regulate body temperature as efficiently as we do since they do not have as much body fat. Throughout the session, I do tend to keep baby in just a diaper, nude, or in light-weight outfits, making the extra warm studio a necessity to keep baby comfortable. Towards the end of the session when it’s time to swaddle them up, the heaters go off to keep baby comfortable under the bundles of fabric.

Props, fabrics, backgrounds, wraps, and accessories are all sanitized before and after each session. Using your questionnaire, I will style your session in advance to maximize our time in the studio. Being sure to capture those perfect precious moments and details!

Parents can be prepared to sit back on the studio couch, unwind and relax while I work to pose and photograph your baby. A little fussing, the occasional cry, and even toilet accidents are always expected and part of the process when handling a new little human. I expect it, plan for it, and most importantly, never rush them through the process. I carefully position every tiny finger and adjust their pose for that perfect shot. There’s no need to hover or worry, I’ve got it all handled! If your baby needs a break or a quick snack, we’ll pause and give them the time they need. This session moves at their pace, not ours.

Milestone & Cake Smash Sessions

These sessions are where we really have fun! I always encourage coming in for portrait sessions every few months, and not just for the memories! The more often we see each other, the smoother each session is likely to go. They are coming in to see a familiar face, in a familiar place. They feel confident being in front of my camera and are not as likely to be scared of the flashing studio lights.

Milestone sessions are typically done at 3, 6, and/or 9 months old. We focus on key developmental points of these stages from tummy time and sitting independently, to standing with assistance and crawling. My milestone sessions feature minimalistic scenes to focus on your baby’s blossoming personality.

Each cake smash setup is uniquely styled based on whatever theme, color scheme, or favorite character you can dream of! From custom backdrops to props to the custom cake itself, I will design a cohesive set that feels modern and whimsical without being cluttered. At this time, you will have the option to get an updated family, mommy/daddy & me portraits. You and I both know you probably haven’t had them done since your newborn session!
