Meet the Faces Behind Patricia Nicole Photography—Northwest Indiana’s Luxury Portrait Photography Studio

At Patricia Nicole Photography, I’m not always a one-woman team! I’ve trained my assistant, Kendra, to help behind the scenes with newborn safety, administrative duties (blah), creating behind-the-scenes content, and basically being my second set of hands. We’re real besties (so you know we work well together), real moms, with real personalities—not your average “stuffy” professionals. We’re bold, loud, fun-loving, an probably spend too much of our free time doom-scrolling.

I’m Patricia—momma to my 2.5 year old autistic son. I am also on the spectrum, so I promise, I’m not trying to be awkward… it just comes naturally. I’ve been told I have a dry and sarcastic sense of humor (whatever that’s supposed to mean). I’m a chronic overuser of exclamation points and emojis, and yes, I really do love using the em dash—that’s not ChatGPT’s doing!

My wife and I met in prison (my favorite way to open this story). She was a correction’s officer, and I was working as the maximum-security nurse at the Westville facility. We basically had one date, and I never left! In our first year together we bought our home here in Michigan City, converted our lower level into my private in-home photography studio, and decided to start trying for kids. We now have one son, with no plans for more—pregnancy was physically very hard on my body.

The way my pregnancy and birth story unfolded is the biggest reason I specialize in maternity and newborn photography now—but that’s a story for another day. Still, this has always been my niche. As the oldest of six kids (with a 14-year age gap between me and the next oldest), babies have always been a big part of my life!

I’ve lost over 160lbs, so I’m still learning how to show up on the other side of the lens. You’ll see me pop up occasionally in Facebook stories, Instagram reels, and in the behind-the-scenes section here on my website!

Hi! I’m Kendra, and I’m the business’s CEO in parroting TikTok sound trends! No, but really, I am so excited to be part of Patricia Nicole Photography as her assistant. I primarily help with newborn sessions, handle some of the admin tasks, capturing behind-the-scenes content, and serve as a sounding board for creative ideas whenever inspiration strikes!

I’m a LaPorte, IN native and now raising my own family here too! I’m 27 (28 in August!), been married to my best friend for five years, and we’ve been together for almost nine. We have two awesome boys, ages 7 and 9, who definitely keep life fun and full of energy! When I’m not assisting with sessions, I’m a stay-at-home mom, college student, and a hobby gardener doing my best to grow as much fresh produce as possible!

Some fun facts about me? I absolutely love turtles, the beach, and just staring up at the sky. Especially during a good sunset. My favorite color lives somewhere between teal and baby blue, which probably explains my obsession with all things coastal.

I actually met Patricia in nursing school, but I quickly realized that the whole “bodily yuck” thing wasn’t for me. Thankfully, newborn photography is much cuter and the poops are much smaller (lol)! I’m here to help make each session feel calm, safe, and special, and I can’t wait to meet all of your sweet families and tiny new humans!
